Netraceutici Sifra

We design innovative medical devices and supplements, providing the medical class with treatments to improve the quality of life for patients with ocular diseases.

To this end, we use excellent raw materials and high technological standards, since these are chronic multi-factor diseases that may lead to the loss of vision such as:

R

inflammation of the ocular surface

R

burning and reddening

R

itching sensation

R

thinning of the cornea

R

intraocular pressure

R

conjunctivitis

R

diabetic retinopathy.

Ocular diseases

Ocular diseases with a serious social and economic impact exist such as:

  • dry eye
  • degenerative diseases of the retina
  • cataracts
  • glaucoma

1. Dry eye syndrome

This is a disease that occurs when the quantity and/or quality of tears is altered. The symptoms that accompany dry eye syndrome are:

  • the sensation of having a foreign object in the eye
  • burning
  • photophobia
  • pain and cloudy vision (in the most serious cases)
  • difficulty opening the eyes when waking up.

Symptoms vary from person to person and increase in dry or windy environments or where heating or air conditioning systems are installed.

Eye drops with Hyaluronic acid and Vegetable glycerine base, as well as vegetable extracts such as Blueberry distilled water, Witch hazel, Camomille, and Eyebright are useful to relieve ocular reddening, fatigue, and discomfort.

2. Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a neurodegenerative ocular disease that causes the gradual and irreversible loss of vision. It is often accompanied by an increase of pressure inside the eye which causes damage to the optic nerve that transmits images to the brain. Because the presence of glaucoma is not detected by any symptoms, diagnosing it preventively is important.

To protect the retinal ganglion cells and to slow the progression of glaucoma, there are active treatments such as, for example, Citicoline, Gingko Biloba, and Nervonic acid.

3. Age-related macular degeneration

In most cases, age-related macular degeneration strikes those over the age of 65. It occurs when the parts of the retina responsible for nourishing the cones and rods age and are unable to carry out their task.

It is a disease that often affects both eyes and this generally happens within a few years of one another.

The use of high doses of antioxidants such as Lipoic acid, Carnosine, Lutein, Zeaxanthin, Blueberry, and Zinc has proven to be effective in reducing the risk of progression of the disease to the more advanced stage.
